Quarantine Journals - Beautiful Weather

Well, our idiotic president showed up long enough today to say that he is encouraging the lock-down to continue until 4/30. Then he said some stupid stuff, like "lots of great things" will be happening on 4/30. Insert eye roll here.

The toilet paper I scored at like 3AM on Amazon the other day showed up, so now we are set.  We also got an additional grow light for the seeds we are starting, and some more almonds for our almond milk etc.

The weather was really beautiful today, 75 degrees and lovely.  We took the kids out in the backyard for a bit. Richard setup this little hanging pod thing that Amy had gotten Penny long ago but we had never had the time to setup. The kids loved it.  Oliver really wanted to go for a walk, so we took their bikes and went around the neighborhood. It was much quieter, empty--the way it should be. The way I like it.  We had a nice ride, and then we came home and went back to the backyard.

Oliver spent most of his time climbing the 10 ft ladder Richard had gotten out to hang the swing with, up and down and up and down and up and down. Eventually, he asked Richard to put him the tree and yelled "Look mommy! I'm a squirrel!" He pretended to sleep on the branch, and then he wanted back down so he could climb the ladder over and over and over again.

The kids had a lunch picnic outside, and I was totally crashing, so I went to take a nap. I knew Oliver needed one too, but he was adamant that he did not, so we let him stay up.  Richard and the kids cleaned up and power washed the deck, picked up all the leaves outside, and then he sprayed water up to make it feel like rain and the kids played in that.  They were outside most of the day, which was good because it's going to be raining all day tomorrow. Of course, he had a total meltdown and crashed hard on the couch around 4.

Tomorrow starts week 2 of distance / home learning.  They are pulling back on some of the work load, but adding other requirements in too.  Hopefully they will get to Zoom live with the class sometime this week.
