Quarantine Journals - Instacart Hero
I ordered groceries on Instacart for my dad, and the grocery store was pretty much empty. He only needed a handful of items, and they didn't have ANY of them.
The shopper sends me pictures of any possible substitutions, and suddenly she disappears. Turns out her phone died, and she sat in the parking lot charging it so she could come back in and keep going. So here we are, her and I, texting back and forth, trying to think of something he might enjoy eating.
The shopper then left the store, and I'm waiting for a delivery notice, when she texts me again with a CART FULL of the items he actually needed. She drove to an entirely DIFFERENT store. A store not even ON Instacart. And she found EVERYTHING that he wanted. She had been working on his order for over two hours at this point.
To top it all off, she didn't even CHARGE me for any of the items she bought at the second store. I've got tears in my eyes. THIS is being the village, y'all.
This is a story I shared to Facebook regarding this amazing woman named Milissa. She texted me that afternoon too. She went so far above and beyond to help me take care of my dad. We tipped her $100 because she deserved it, and because in a crisis, you can never show too much gratitude. We have to take care of each other.
