Quarantine Journals - Gardening and Insomnia
Well, today was a busy day of gardening. Planting new seats, getting the new aero garden ready, moving the grow lights around. Here's hoping we can get some plants out of it.
I sent over our donation and cards for Penny's teacher today. Ended up raising $700 for her vet bills, and sending over half a dozen cards from all the kids. Strangely enough, she never replied to the emails or the cards or the donation. So I've spent today worried that I upset her, or that somethings wrong, or that she didn't get the donation. Here's hoping there's an email in the morning.
Tonight our caterpillars started turning into chrysalis us. They were starting to take their J shapes on the lid this morning, and by the time I went to bed at 2 AM I was watching them morph. It was fascinating at first, but quickly just turned to horrifying nightmare juice.
I don't even know how to sum up how many dumb things our president has said and done today. He put the head of the wrestling league in charge of reopening the country, and our governor is going to be making a speech on Friday regarding whether or not we are all supposed to be going back to life as usual on May 4.
Richard is wanting to build a playground for the kids, letting Penny help him, but we're going back-and-forth on the type of wood that would be safest to use for the children. The kind that I want to use doubles the price of the playground, and doesn't make him want to do it anymore.
Oliver spent this morning taping up his entire body and then having me roll him out of the tape. He went through several rolls of washy tape, and it just made me laugh.
The local shop over here that I used to go get tea at years ago close their doors permanently today. They're only going to sell stuff online. This is the American tea shop that was recently featured on a television show where they revive businesses, and rebranded them and set them out into the world to be famous and successful. I'm just really bummed out that they ended up having to shut down permanently.
