Quarantine Journals - Quiet
Not much to report here. It was a quiet, typical day. It was beautiful outside, but the kids were so engrossed in playing a game together on Penny's iPad that I couldn't entice either of them to come outside, but I didn't try very hard either. I used the excuse to duck out by myself and check out the garden to make sure it wasn't damaged by the storm. Everything looked good.
I realize some of my neighbors ment is starting to propagate under the fence, so I snapped a couple of branches and stuck it in some dirt and some water to see if I can get either one of them to grow.
It seems like everything that we planted in the aero garden has germinated at this point with the exception of the cilantro.
I got lots of emails today from local businesses that were announcing the re-openings this week and next. It was very defeating and depressing. I did get to notifications on Facebook from two different businesses that announced that they would NOT be participating in the re-open at this point. One is a local studio, and the other was Alamo Drafthouse movie theater.
A friend of mine sent me a gift card yesterday to buy another aero garden, but three already seems a bit excessive. So I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Didn't hear from my dad much other than that he was feeling a little better.
Our vice president went to a hospital yesterday, and despite the hospitals policy on requiring mass, he didn't wear one. Today he said that he didn't wear a mask because he wanted to be able to look at the patients in the eye. So… Wrap your head around that one.
Ordered another large batch of groceries through Carmen today. Probably took us over an hour to disinfect everything. She was kind enough to procure six bottles of wine for us, so I can have some wine on my birthday! And I probably had some tonight too.
Feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Don't have much to say tonight other than it was a decent day, and here's hoping tomorrow is even better. I'm really scared for what our governor, and other states, are doing to the nation right now by Rushing along these re-openings. I have no doubt that within a few weeks to a month we're going to be worse off than we were when this whole thing started.
