Quarantine Journals - Week 2 of School & House Update

I'm going to keep this short because I am exhausted and need to go to bed.

I found out on Friday that Dry Force should have ripped out the carpet that was touched by sewage water and now we may have to go several more weeks away from home while they replace the carpet throughout the house.  It's all TBD because the adjuster wouldn't answer my calls on Friday.

Week 2 of school starts tomorrow.  The first week went okay.  She was tired of all the Zoom meetings (3 a day), but usually managed to finish her school work in a timely manner. I do not think it will be so easy when they have more work to do and also the district requirements in addition to all this.  But never fear, things must get better soon, right?

NO. That is NOT RIGHT.  I have been checking my email several times a day since Friday for this week's schedule, and it did not even show up until 9PM tonight! LO AND FREAKING BEHOLD, Penny will now have FOUR zooms a day, and on Tuesday she has FIVE FREAKING ZOOMS. FIVE!! Here is her reminder schedule that I am using to help us get to meetings on time.

This is unbelievable, and I sent her teacher an email saying as much. Her reply was basically "let's give it a try and do our best." Great. Thanks so much.

Anyway, today was an otherwise nice day of playing board games as a family and swimming.  Penny and I spent naptime playing scrabble and checkers.

We realized yesterday that the contractors flipped the breaker and our outdoor freezer was completely thawed.  All that food had to be trashed.  I also got in a spat with Dan on Friday / Saturday, whom I actually really like, and it fucking wrecked my weekend.

They should be done with their part by the end of this week, I think/hope, but they are waiting for some things to be delivered. Tomorrow maybe I will have a better idea of what has to happen with the carpet.  I hate this. What a freaking nightmare it is all day every day.
