Dear CISD Community, 

As part of the Coppell ISD response to COVID-19, we are sharing this update about the current active cases of COVID-19 at our campuses or buildings. 

As of Monday, October 19, 2020, these active cases are:

  1. 1 CMS East remote student reported to the district on 10/19/20
  2. 1 Pinkerton Elementary in person student reported on 10/19/20
  3. 1 Canyon Ranch Elementary in person student reported on 10/19/20
  4. 1 Pinkerton Elementary employee reported on 10/19/20
  5. 1 New Tech High @ Coppell in person student reported on 10/18/20 
  6. 1 CISD employee from the CISD Administration Building reported on 10/17/20
  7. 1 CHS employee reported to the district on 10/16/20 (after business hours)
  8. 1 CISD employee from the CISD Service Center reported to the district on 10/16/20
  9. 1 CHS in person student reported to the district on 10/16/20
  10. 1 Cottonwood Creek Elementary remote learning student reported on 10/16/20 
  11. 1 Pinkerton Elementary employee reported to the district on 10/16/20
  12. 1 Pinkerton Elementary in person student reported to the district on 10/16/20
  13. 1 CHS in person student reported to the district on 10/16/20
  14. 1 CHS employee reported to the district on 10/16/20

*Correction: This case was originally reported as a remote learning student. 

Some cases were taken off the Dashboard and summary over the weekend, because these individuals completed their isolation period and met the criteria for removal.

Each weekday, if there are new reported positive active COVID-19 cases, CISD will share an email summary with our community at 6 p.m. An active case indicates that the student (both remote and in person) or staff member has been tested and received a report confirming that they have the virus. These individuals will be isolated off site, as per CISD and Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) guidelines. Cases are removed from the COVID-19 Dashboard and email summary once these individuals have completed the isolation period and met the criteria to return to campus. These removal dates can vary due to a number of factors, including the individual being in isolation prior to receiving a positive test.  The active case notification day is not necessarily the first day of isolation for an individual. 

Cases at individual schools will be communicated via email directly to the employees and parents/guardians at each campus. Although the district discloses case information to DCHHS and the Texas Education Agency (TEA), we must maintain confidentiality for the individuals who test positive. 

The CISD COVID-19 Dashboard at  www.coppellisd.com/COVID-19Dashboard is updated only when the district has an active COVID-19 case to report.

I really want to try to go to bed at a decent hour, so I'm going to try and make this quick and snappy. The diggers came out and spent 8 to 5 digging the tunnel underneath the house. They told us that they would cover it to prevent the rain getting in, but they just threw a piece of plywood on top of it. The plywood isn't even as big as a whole, and I felt very angry that they didn't do what they said they were going to do by topping it. Also, no one ever sent me a picture, that picture that I saw was the one that Richard sent me when he went over to the house. We went back-and-forth about whether or not he would still go because it was so late when everybody finished digging, but it turns out they flipped the breaker in the front yard which meant that the freezer in the garage was off. Quarantine Journals - A letter to the contractors, therapy vent

It has been a month since you told me this job was finished. A month of driving back and forth multiple times a week to review work only to find more errors. You told me you were done, and the fixtures hadn't even been installed.  Nothing had been cleaned—we couldn't even see the damage through the dirt. There was paint in the wrong finish, damage to my new mirror, a leak under the sink with standing water and water damaged paint in the vanities.  There were chipped tiles and damage to the grout on the floor in both bathrooms, and lines drawn in permanent marker on the floors.  There were multiple cracked and scratched tiles in the shower. The carpet had come loose in the hallway and the study.  The tile on the bathroom shelf had been redone 3 times and the grout was unusually dark.  The shut off valve did not work.  The bathroom door would not close.  The towel bar was falling out of the wall. And there were a slew of careless mistakes made with regards to painting and caulkin...
