Quarantine Journals - President
Four days, we have been watching the news and social media as they counted one ballot after another. Initially, it seriously looks like we were going to end up with Trump for another four years. Nothing can describe the depression that set in with this realization. But then, slowly but surely, mail in ballots started to trickle in, and the table started to turn. We all felt the hope that Biden was going to be president, and Trump felt the panic of knowing that his term was over. He was having all sorts of temper tantrum's on Twitter, holding press conferences, inciting violence, using the White House to further his gain and accuse the country of the voter fraud. He demanded that some states recount their ballots, and he demanded that other states stop counting entirely. He called his followers to stop accounting, and violent protest and sued around the voting areas, two men showing up with guns were sorted by someone who gave a heads up. This week has been hell.
But, this morning as I was walking through the kitchen, I saw that it had been announced on Richard's iPad. Joe Biden is going to be the forty sixth President of the United States. Kamala Harris is going to be the first female vice president. It is depressing to see how many people stood up and said that everything Trump was doing was still OK, and they still wanted him to be president for another four years, but at least, thank God, even more people stood up and said that they were tired of this shit, they were tired of a president who acts like an immature baby, furthers heat, only cares about himself, insights violence, and promotes racism. At least there were enough of us done with his shit to get him out of the White House. And now to runoff elections in Georgia will hold the fate of whether or not Democrats control the Senate. It feels horrible to know that we have to wait that long to find out, but at least while we're waiting we know that we don't have to deal with Trump for another four years.
He has already launched multiple lawsuits accusing voter fraud, many of which have already been thrown out. He's already said that he will refuse to leave the White House. There are rumors going around that he will resign so the pence can pardon him from his ongoing trials, but I sure hope tense a smarter than that. I sure hope Pence has been waiting for his opportunity to give Trump a big fat FU. But that's wishful thinking.
FOR NOW, LET'S CELEBRATE
