Quarantine Journals -- Penny's Birthday!

We celebrated Penny's birthday today since Richard had to work yesterday and they both have full schedules tomorrow.

I stayed up super late last night trying to check the boxes for all the things she was hoping for.  I made her a narwhal cake for her Narwhal and Jelly theme.  I made her donuts with sprinkles for breakfast. I decorated the house up and make sure everything was wrapped up, and then I went to bed late late late.  When Oliver woke up, Richard called me and we all got up together.  Penny was super excited by the balloons, streamer curtain things, and the giant jellyfish.  They kids were running all over the place with the balloons that Richard had filled with helium. Then we had breakfast together, which happens almost never, and told her she could pick out some games.  We played board games, I took a shower, and then my dad facetimed to watch her open some gifts.  She was really excited about everything she got, especially the Super Mario Smart Legos.  She had asked for an extra set for Oliver, so we gave him one too. Good thing, otherwise I think there would have been constant fighting. It is pretty much Oliver's most favorite thing ever.  Penny and he played with them forever.

Penny did a nice long facetime with Arya and Evie (Meggan's kids) and showed them all about her new toys.  Then we played some video games, opened a few more presents, watched a movie of her choice (angry birds 2) and ate dinner, also her choice: nachos.

We saved a few gifts for tomorrow and she asked Richard to make quesadillas.  She said she had a good day, so I hope we made up for the fact that 2020 stole her party.

I LOVE YOU PENNY.
