Crystal Beach Breakout - Vacation Day 2

SUNDAY
The kids were dying to go down to the beach even though we could tell it was pretty busy.  We went down around 11AM and they ran straight into the ocean, Penny with a boogie board and Oliver close behind her.  The waves weren't too bad, and Penny just swam and swam.  Eventually I came out and sat on the sand because my foot hurt.  Oliver wanted to be carried a lot, so we took turns doing that too.  Going out deep enough to get to the shallower parts (yeah weird) and looking at hermit crabs while we sat bobbing in the waves.  We spent an hour and a half maybe, and Penny even got sunburned on her face... which shocked me.

The beach started getting really, really crowded, so I waved them in.  There were trucks all over the place being idiots, and so, so many people.  They left a ton of trash behind for us to enjoy this week, but I was so very ready for everyone to go home so we could enjoy the beach.  We left around... 12 maybe.  We had lunch outside and then Richard went to lay down for a nap.  Oliver said he was tired to and followed him in here shortly after.  He crawled right into the bed and went to sleep. They slept for like 2.5 hours.

While they were sleeping, Penny and I sat outside on the rocking bench and read.  At first, she was reading her own book, but then she asked me to read her Harry Potter so we did that for a while.  We played a couple of word games and Scrabble Slam.  Finally came in here to wake the boys up at 4.

After they got up, we drove over to Monster Man Shrimp and got some fresh shrimp, which Richard made with some pasta and biscuits. They didn't have any grouper.  We have been enjoying all our meals out on the upstairs deck.  They have 2 tables so we can go wherever the sun isn't.  Eating outside in the nice breeze has been SO ENJOYABLE.  No mosquitoes really, just pleasant as can be.

That evening, we went back to the beach and saw a freaking Portugese Man O War on the beach.  And then another and another.  Neither kid would listen about staying out of the water, so they all ended up in there anyway, but we didn't let them get far because the waves were pretty wild.  I wouldn't have realized it without Richard saying it though, I clearly have a terrible time telling big waves from small. We stayed for a couple of hours and then did a late dinner and late bedtime.
