Crystal Beach Breakout - Vacation Day 9

SUNDAY

Time to head home!  Last night, Penny found a purple martin egg in the grass and was devastated when I told her she couldn't bring it home with us. Rough spot for sure. They spent the morning watching tv while we packed, and then playing down stairs while we used the electric dumbwaiter to load up the car. We filled out the guest book, cleared all our stuff out, and started the drive home.

It's a rough ride in the car with Oliver these days, but we made it out okay.  He had to stop to pee a lot this time.  We ate chicken express.  We stopped at a local park to pee and eat, and while Oliver was washing his hands in the sink, an little frog popped his head out of the overflow hole.  Oliver screamed, but then he started laughing.  We made a watermelon sugar hi video out of it and put it on Facebook.

They watched a movie while they ate, played some video games, did some activities from the car bag, and we played car bingo.  I think they had a lot of fun, but Oliver was about to meltdown as we pulled up here.  I ordered some thai food to be delivered and Richard unloaded the car while the kids were drawing pictures today.

They said they were really happy to be home, but they were also missing the beach and the outdoor dinners tonight.

It was a great trip overall.  Much needed, and it's kind of hard to be back here.  I feel really disoriented about re-entering our regular routine.
