5th Birthday - Party I

Oliver woke up the dynamic duo, two giant spiderman balloons.  We had only ordered one, but when it got here, Richard felt like it was deflating.  I called Party City and they uber'ed over another one.  Only, the first one didn't deflate, and then we had two.

There was a birthday banner, table cloth, tattoos etc.  We finally got the vegan donuts and they were on the table as well.  (Some of them had arrived naked, so I glazed all of them and added sprinkles.). He was SO excited.

Everyone headed over to eat breakfast, and Penny kept asking "What is that sound?"
I don't know, eat your food!

But then Oliver got nosey with the curtains and delightfully discovered the Spider Man Bounce House / Water Slide we had rented for them.  He was deliriously happy and they wanted to go out right away.  They bounced for a bit, and then we filled it with water and they got ready to get wet.

It was a HOT day in Texas, high of 105, heat index 122, but we hung in there.  They went back and forth from in and outside.  My dad came over around 10:30 and they were really excited to see him.  While the kids were bouncing, I ordered a new bird house for delivery thinking my dad could help us get it installed level, so I was distracted by that a bit.

Then we came in and did lunch, cake, gifts, more bouncing, etc.  The kids played lots of games with grandpa, lots of board games with the family.  He was so happy with the cake and seeing his smiles all day were such a balm for the soul.

My dad decided to stay the night, so we had dinner and watched the first episode of Ms. Marvel.  The kids went off to bed and were so excited to spend this morning playing with him as well.  He headed home around lunch time after a game of Poop Bingo.
