Funny things

Today, I was explaining to Oliver that some male species have a special name. Like a male chicken is called a rooster, and a male deer is called a buck. 
Oliver: let's call them buckers. 
Me: Oh, I don't know about that. 
Oliver: Yep, that's what we are calling them: buckers. I'm going to call everyone buckers. We are almost to the playground, buckers!

Oliver: How do you spell mushroom?
Me: (spells mushroom )

(5 minutes of silence) 


Oliver: do people have meat in them?
Me: yes
Oliver: what kind?
Me: uhhh?
Oliver: what kind of texture?
Me: I do not know
Oliver: There are so many meats. I can't remember them all.

Tonight, Oliver played doctor. Richard was his first patient.  Oliver had to do a scan to see what was wrong. He shared the scan results with all of us (see image). Diagnosis: Cat Scratch. He then gave Richard a flu shot, washed the blood off his arm, placed a small cone over his nose and said, "Okay. Now, scream."

Your dad

I say "your dad" and "your sister" so often that Oliver thought it was a title, so he would call them Your Dad and Your Sister to anyone he talked about them too.  We are trying to work on pronouns now and the difference between MY dad and YOUR dad.  He is doing great but gets so turned around sometimes that he just stops and says "Richard."
